The Rysy massif has three peaks. On the Polish-Slovak border there is an average north-western peak, whose various measurements gave a height from 2498.7 to 2499.6 m[2] (in line with the traditionally recognized value of 2499 m). This peak is the highest point in Poland. Among the classic geodetic measurements made for this peak, the most accurate were carried out in 1988, when, using the precise trigonometric leveling method, the height of the geodetic point located 60 cm below the peak was determined, independently of the Polish and Slovak sides. The result was 2498.712 m from the Polish side and 2498.724 m from the Slovak side (a difference of only 1.2 cm) - so the height of the north-western peak of Rysy is (rounded to 0.1 m) 2499.3 m.
