Hiking Highlight
On the right bank of the Flöha, directly behind the bastion, the slope is covered in the present time with mighty stone scree. The "Leibhaftige" personally should have raged here:
A long time ago, the miller on the Flöha agreed with the devil on a contract. So the devil had to build a stone bridge over the river. If he succeeds in just one single night, he would be entitled to the miller's soul. If the devil could not manage to build the structure until the first cockcrow, the agreement should be canceled.
As the evening dawned, the devil began to pile up heavy stones. The construction progressed rapidly. Shortly after midnight, the work came to an end. The miller seized the fear. He regretted the contract. Hurriedly, he sought ways to preserve his soul. He found rescue in the chicken coop. He grabbed the cock and tore the poor poultry from his sleep. The terrified animal was crowing. The hitherto confident devil startled. A cockcrow at such an unfamiliar time could only be cheating. Nevertheless, he had to submit to the agreement. Angrily, he tore his building.

Beautiful rock, wonderful view, especially in the spring

Ridge of rock that stretches long and narrow down the slope and reluctantly clears the way in the middle. Very nice hut to rest.
