The Botenlauben castle ruins are a hilltop castle that was first mentioned in documents in 1206. The ruins are a popular tourist destination, as they offer wonderful views. In summer, the so-called Botenlauben Festival takes place here, where visitors are transported back to the time of 1220, when Count Otto and his wife Countess Beatrix ruled the castle.
