The Stengerts is a 347 meter high mountain in the Vorspessart in the area of the Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg.

At the top of the Stengerts is the 22 meter high Dr. Hönlein tower (formerly: Hindenburg tower). It was opened on May 23, 1937 with its 100 steps by the Spessartbund and named after Paul von Hindenburg.

Great view over Aschaffenburg, albeit through barred "windows". The tower was formerly used for abseiling exercises by the US Army. Many distant symbols indicate a dark past.

Great view from up here over Aschaffenburg and beyond. The relic from a not so beautiful past can still be guessed above the entrance.

In clear weather a great view as far as Frankfurt and Hanau.
Even today, the tower is still used for climbing, but by free climbers.

The tower is freely accessible and if you have made the 106 steps to the viewing platform, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view as far as Aschaffenburg and the Vorspessart. Only the close-meshed grilles on the windows cloud the view a little, which could have been made a little more "view-friendly"

Interesting tower and when you have made the 106 steps to the viewing platform you will be rewarded with a beautiful view. Only the bars in front of the windows cloud the view a bit, which could have been made a bit more "view-friendly".

The bars were installed because of voluntary "jumps".
