In the 13th century, old Rostock was surrounded by a city wall with 23 city gates, six wall towers and many vicarage houses. Further changes resulted from the three-walled bastion built in 1625/26 near the Kröpelin Gate.
Remains of it have been preserved to this day and are surrounded by one of the most beautiful green areas rich in plant species, which invites you to rest and relax in the middle of the city.
