Fischbach is the smallest district in the municipality of Hauneck in the eastern Hessfeld district of Rotenburg.
Fischbach has 72 inhabitants
The village was first mentioned on October 16, 1312. At that time Fischbach was located between the Hersfeld and Fulda monastery areas. The place was in the Buchenau district of Schildschlag, which belonged to Hersfeld Abbey and from 1648 to the Landgraviate of Hesse.
On August 1, 1972, Fischbach was incorporated into the municipality of Hauneck as part of the regional reform in Hesse.
