The St. Bartholomäus Church is located in the middle of the village and gave it its name: Neuenkirchen. It is built in the neo-Gothic style and was consecrated in November 1880. The crucifixion group above the altar from the end of the 15th century and the bronze baptismal font from the 14th century are particularly worth seeing in the church.

In summer the church is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is located on the pilgrimage route "Via Romea Germanica" and is a cycle path church on the "Leine-Heide-Radweg".
