This woodland, not far from the town of Richmond in North Yorkshire, is a gorgeous place to spend some time, whether by bike or on foot.

A wide and easy bridleway contours along the slopes of the woodland, set in Swaledale up above the River Swale. It's best ridden in the summer months, as you'll see from the photos, can be pretty muddy when wet!

When you emerge from the woodland, enjoy the expansive rural views across the valley and back towards the town.
