Suitable for mountain or gravel bike - BEWARE OF THE POTHOLES

      August 13, 2020

A lovely path which is rideable on most(any) off road orientated bikes. The path is surrounded by farm land so there are often cows and sheep around. The southern end is probably the roughest part and the northern end is fairly sandy. It can be a lot of fun to ride north on this trail on a gravel bike or hardtail as it is downhill and fast but not too technical. Do keep in mind that there is a gate half way along.

High Riggs Road is a sandy gravel byway - either a steady climb or a fast descent depending on which way you tackle it. It's pretty rutted but the ruts are wide and not too deep so it's not too technical to ride. It's definitely do-able on a gravel bike in either direction but when it's very dry the sand can get a bit deep in places and in winter it gets very puddly.
