The mountain Daniel is at an altitude of 2340 m above sea level. A. the highest peak of the Ammergau Alps, a group of the Northern Limestone Alps. It is located in the Ausserfern district of the Austrian province of Tyrol, north of the villages Ehrwald and Lermoos. Its north wall is about 200 m high. The south wall has a rather schrofigen character. With the almost equal Upsspitze (2332 m) it forms a double peak. An adjacent peak in the northwest is the Hochschrutte with 2247 m altitude.

Very nice summit, the ascent is not particularly difficult, shortly before the summit you have to hike over a short ridge, where there is also a small climbing passage (approx. UIAA 1). Nevertheless, a head for heights and surefootedness are recommended.
