The island of Hombroich is an exciting and special destination. The founder of the museum and the foundation, Karl-Heinrich Müller, acquired the area with the aim of combining art, nature and architecture. The island is designed as a "daylight museum". The idea is to make the sculptures, which also include the buildings, a sensual experience, which is why there is no signage or artificial lighting.
You should allow around three to four hours for a thorough inspection. But even if you don't know what to do with contemporary art, it is a worthwhile excursion destination and worth a detour from the Erft cycle path.

Beautiful park with extravagant buildings, some of which contain art. Also worth a visit as an art phobic.
