Beinn an Dòthaidh is one of the Bridge of Orchy Munros, a quintet of mountain peaks that signal a shift in character from the gentler giants of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to the rockier mountains that characterise the West Highlands. The four that overlook the vast Rannoch Moor are sometimes referred to as the Great Wall of Rannoch.
For those travelling north from Tyndrum, it’s the striking conical form of neighbouring Beinn Dòrain that draws the eye. Many bag both Beinn an Dòthaidh and Dòrain on a visit to the region. Beinn an Dòthaidh has an ace up its sleeve that its neighbour does not, a sensational outlook across the wild expanse of Rannoch Moor from its summit, as well as across Loch Tulla towards Stob Ghabhar and the other mountains of Glen Etive.
Bridge of Orchy is the usual start point for both Beinn an Dòthaidh and Beinn Dòrain, with most routes following the Allt Coire an Dòthaidh to the bealach between the two. The village has a railway station and a few accommodation options. More can be found in nearby Tyndrum.

Beinn an Dòthaidh is a 3,294-foot (1,004 m) Munro in the Scottish Highlands. It’s often climbed alongside Beinn Dorain from Bridge of Orchy. You can't really make a circular out of the day, so a 'T' shaped route with the re-tracing of some steps is required. However, the views are magnificent, so it's well worth it.
There are three summit tops along Beinn an Dòthaidh's curved ridge and the true Munro summit is the middle of the three.

The summit lies at NN 33180 40860 and is marked by a rather small cairn. Views north when clear are fantastic, right across Rannoch Moor and to Ben Nevis.
It is worth doing Beinn Dorain in a circuit here too.
