The term "deadwood" refers to standing and fallen trees, or parts thereof, that have died. It is the final developmental stage in a tree's life and one of the most important structural elements of our forests. There is even funding available for deadwood.
€50-175 per tree/tree part as a one-time payment, with a maximum of five deadwood pieces per hectare.

Hiking

In this part of the forest, the dead dead wood is not removed but forms a refuge for about a fifth of the animals, plants and mushrooms in the forest. You need old, dying or dead wood as a habitat or source of food. That is around 6,000 species! In addition to lichen and moss, this includes over 2,500 species of mushrooms and more than 1,400 beetles, but also, for example, birds, bats, amphibians or reptiles.
