The Villa Cimbrone is located in a large, public park on a protruding rock, about 350 m above sea level. The Scot Ernest William Beckett had a 12th-century Palazzo remodel in 1904 and create a garden. Today, the villa houses a small luxurious hotel. Beckett (Lord Grimthorp) died in 1917 and is buried in the small temple in the garden. Access to the garden is through a cloister, with a fountain in the middle. On one side, the flower garden extends with its lavish splendor, between which numerous copies of Roman art are placed. In other areas of the garden, ancient trees provide shade. The belvedere, an observation platform with a balustrade with marble busts, is located at the end of the garden, directly above the cliff sloping down to the sea and offers an incomparable view on clear days, reaching Capri on one side and Paestum on the other.
