This devotional chapel in honor of Our Lady of Peace was founded in 1972 to replace the niche chapel that was located in an entrance post (see black and white photo) that gave access to the farm of the Vandenneste family. In the small niche was a Our Lady statue.
In the current chapel a small plate has been attached that states two dates: 1846 - 1972. The first year refers to the construction date of the first chapel. This date was also incorporated in the entrance post, along with the letters FC, which refer to the then owner Frans Cools. A church road ran alongside the first chapel.
