Nijenbeek Castle Ruins

Nice to see from a distance. If you are close to it, pay attention because it is very hidden behind trees.

Nijenbeek Castle is located on an old bed of the IJssel near Voorst. Due to the meandering of the river, it is now a few hundred meters from the IJssel. The remainder is a square keep. The castle was probably founded in the early 13th century. See further: denijenbeek.nl

Beautiful ruin that was preserved due to the risk of collapse, but unfortunately not accessible to the public. Nevertheless, a beautiful place. There is also seating available.

If you continue walking through the De Poll estate, you will occasionally see the structure appearing.

Only accessible during the day and on foot or by bicycle.
