If you're going to Wakehurst at the moment you need to book a day in advance but there's plenty of space.

This is a great section of singletrack on sidelong ground through pine forest into a lovely Sussex ghyll, including a short section through some sandstone buttresses. As you head down the steeper slopes near the valley floor, don’t forget that what goes down has to come back up, and some sections are particularly steep (but well worth the effort)!

The rocks are outcrops of the Ardingly Sandstone Member of the Tunbridge Wells Sandstone Formation and there are many more like this between Balcombe, Ardingly, East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells, some more known than others.
