The imposing town hall of Homberg/Ohm is simply magnificent to look at. It was built in 1539 in post and beam construction on the market square. The first basement floor was a market hall and office. The floor above was used as a meeting and council chamber, but also as a ballroom. The upper floors were used to store supplies. A wine cellar was built into the hillside beneath the town hall in 1554. (Source: Flyer from Homberg/Ohm)

Indeed a very beautiful building and an adornment for the old town of Homberg. A little further up is the castle.
