    Tips

The narration station looks quite unspectacular, but is of great importance for the water balance of the Pulheimer Bach. The Ronne running at the north-east foot of the Glessener Höhe, which occasionally carries water during heavy rainfall, is led to the west of the barbecue area through two pipes. A small pipe goes left into the slope to the source area Liebesallee, a higher pipe with a significantly larger diameter leads to the right to a channel that drains into the Cologne canal. With official approval, this construction has been distributing slope drainage water from Glessener Höhe in a controlled manner since around 1989. The low and medium water levels are directed to the Liebesallee spring area and thus at least partially compensate for the new groundwater formation and source bed impaired by the artificial filling of Glessener Höhe. In the event of flooding, the excess water is led into the Cologne canal.
