Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)

On a clear day, one can see this hill stand out among the polder landscape that surrounds it from miles away. Apart from an occasional bridge, or the dunes in Scheveningen, it is the only 'climb' in this part of the Netherlands. A wide street with good asphalt leads up the hill (average grade 4%, height difference 12m) in a slight s-shape. Having once been a landfill, it is now an idyllic and frequented recreation area that offers breathtaking views over Zoetermeer and its surroundings. Next to it is the Ski hall Snowworld Zoetermeer and the outdoor climbing rock Ayer's rock, as well as the club house of the road bike club of Zoetmeer.

One can also do this climb from the other side, continuing on the wide road. But then, there's no 'technical' descend.
