This restaurant was built in 1924 by the Harzclub. It is located right next to the old Maassen shaft, and the name Gaipel is reminiscent of the early conveyors, the "Goebel wheels", which used horsepower to extract the ore. On the mining trail in the corner you can still learn a lot about this time today. Or simply stop by the cozy restaurant, which is today run by a friendly Italian.
