The Halder Pluto in Herne is located directly on the adventure cycle path Erzbahntrasse.
In September 2014, a new five meter high observation cockpit was opened, from which one has a panoramic view of the region. Over 40 steps you reach a platform from which you can enjoy the view from 75 m height. The direct view leads to the shaft framework of the Pluto colliery. In good weather, the view extends to the coal mine Consol in Gelsenkirchen, the Ewald mine and the Hoheward heap in Herten.

The Halde Pluto is a rather flat hill, but still offers from the small lookout tower a remarkable panoramic view of the surrounding Ruhr area. In addition, it is located in an important nature reserve (IUCN category IV), a detour to the two natural ponds worthwhile.

Beautiful 360° all-round view, eg in the direction of the Arena (Schalke) or Halde Hoheward and Hoppenbruch. The small detour from the Erzbahntrasse is well worth it.
