The summit of An Coileachan sits on a atop a small crag at 923m. You'll be forgiven for having a childish chuckle at the English translation of this mountain - 'Little Cock'. This was the ninth mountain I climbed on a two day expedition to climb the Munro mountains of the Fannaichs range and I was exhausted by the time I reached the top. Nothing a chocolate bar wouldn't sort!

At Coileachen is one of four Munros of the Eastern Fannichs. They can be climbed relatively well in one round. This was my first solo tour in Scotland in 2014.

One of the Fannichs, and the most easterly. This Munro has some good views. From its summit there is not many paths, and between it and the main road to Ullapool, the faint path there is becomes boggy and rough.
