+++ In the vicinity of the hunting lodge you will find gnarled oaks, twisted hornbeams and uprooted giant trees. Beech trees grow west of the hunting lodge. The special feature of the Neuchâtel primeval forest is not only its very old trees, but also the fact that the dead wood (dead trees) is not removed and thus offers a microcosm for fungi, lichens and beetles.
