"The gallows (Rabenstuhl) stood on the Eilerberg near the village of Eilern. The court with gallows and bicycle belonged to the Lord of Westphalia. There the death sentences of the Fürstenberg court were carried out. Because the court was on a mountain and some trade routes were not far from there, those sentenced to death were visible from afar, to serve as a deterrent to crime.

Today, a wooden gallows and a plaque are reminiscent of the former gallows. The board reads: The gallows - the place of execution of the Sintfeld. In 1729, five robbers of a gang from Hesse were hanged and wheeled at this court for the murder of a farmer in Fürstenberg. A Johannes Schmidt from Meerhof was last untied here in 1786. Gallows and wheels were knocked down in 1807. "
