the haunt of nature lovers in the city.

La Petite Ceinture du 15e is a linear park built on the right-of-way of the former Petite Ceinture line
The Petite Ceinture line was built around Paris in the second half of the 19th century. The southern section, linking Auteuil to Ivry-sur-Seine, was inaugurated in 18673. For goods traffic, it served the Citroën factories to the west and the Abattoirs de Vaugirard to the east. In competition with the metro, the majority of the line closed to passenger traffic in 1934. Freight traffic disappeared in the early 1990s. In the 21st century, the line was largely abandoned and part of its length cut. Vegetation then covered part of the railway installations.
