Bølgen (The Wave) in Vejle

The landmark of historic Vejle is the windmill, visible from afar, while the wave-shaped residential complex Bølgen next to the harbor is considered a new landmark. The town church of Sanct Nicolai dates back to the 13th century, but it was often rebuilt and today appears as a construction of the time around 1900. 1835 Haraldskær a bog body was found, which was initially considered the Viking Queen Gunnhild. It concerned however around a woman, which around the year 490 v. Chr. Had been executed. Her bog body can be seen in St. Nicholas Church in Vejle. The Old Town of Vejle is one of the worst preserved in Jutland, thanks to modernization in the spirit of the 20th century and adaptation to traffic.
