The castle ruin Reichenau is an old mansion of the marshes, which is currently owned by the Starhemberger family and has been used for cultural purposes for many years. The central location and the magnificent backdrop of the Reichenau Castle were reason enough to offer culture in the form of serious summer theater across the local borders.

Since 1994 the association "Burgfestspiele Reichenau" has been organizing sophisticated theater in cooperation with a professional director, amateur actors and the people of Reichenau.
