Our first trek of the trekking tour "Madeira intensive" took us to the peninsula "Ponta de São Lourenço". From a parking lot, the desert-like area can only be explored on foot.
Fortunately, we were in the morning (09:15 clock) on site. At this time you have the peninsula almost for yourself, before around noon the tourist buses "fly in". For the easy stage you should plan for 3 hours, but still enough time to take pictures!

The peninsula is unique (dry and barren) for Madeira and therefore a worthwhile detour!
