Arbus is known for its coastline called the Green Coast. Sandy beaches stretch for several tens of kilometers with dunes sometimes reaching a hundred meters high.
Among other interesting things to visit in the territory of Arbus you will find abandoned mining sites such as Montevecchio and Ingurtosu where lead, zinc and silver were mined. Mining activity in this region dates back to ancient times, but modern mining began in earnest in the eighteenth century. At the end of the twentieth century, factories ceased to function.

Arbus is in the southwest coast of the Italian island of Sardinia. Its municipality s known for its coastline, the Costa Verde (Green Coast, so called by the color of the vegetation and the sea), with sandy beaches of tens of km. Among these, the most remarkable is that of Piscinas with dunes up to 100 meters high, which is therefore considered one of the biggest dune systems in Europe.
Other interesting elements in the territory of Arbus are the archaeological sites (Nuraghi and Tombs of the Giants) and the mining sites (such as that of Montevecchio or Ingurtosu). The mining activity in this area dates back to the Ancient Age, but the modern exploitation of minerals started in the 18th century. At the end of the 20th century the plants ceased to function and were converted in an important site of industrial archaeology (part of the "Parco Geominerario Storico ed Ambientale della Sardegna"), which can be visited.
