The Haselschacher Buck is part of the Badberg nature reserve, which is there to protect the flora and fauna typical of the Kaiserstuhl. In contrast to the rest of the large part of the Kaiserstuhl, the landscape was not laid out in terraces here. The result is a bare mountain ridge with a wide view (when the weather is clear you can see the Hochkönigsburg in the Vosges glittering in the sun), a multitude of small and very small animals and an excellent place to fly kites in autumn.
