The Briese belongs to the Barnim Nature Park and was formed as a glacial meltwater river valley. Its source is in the Wandlitzsee. Its 1.2km long course meanders through meadows, moors and alder swamp forests below the Rahmer See. It has a gradient of around 17m and is therefore a habitat for brown trout, kingfishers and grey wagtails. It flows into an old arm of the Havel in Birkenwerder.

One of the most beautiful and unspoiled places in Oberhavel. Great for biking during the week. Very busy on weekends. Also surrounded by great forest trails with climbs and descents.
