The church was created in the 13th century. Nice location with a view of the lake and interesting history.

The church from the 9th century, beautifully situated near the lake, the stately, more than 400-year-old vicarage with the small vineyard and the mighty benefice barn form the structural center of our small parish in the Bernese Seeland. The church in Sutz, extended in 1228, with Romanesque ship walls from the 7th/8th Century, a tower erected around 1485 and a choir from 1510 once belonged to the barons of Jegistorf, who gave the church estate with further possessions to the Gottstatt Abbey in 1289. With the secularization of the abbey in 1528, the entire property passed to Bern. The parish also included Tüscherz and Alfermée on the opposite bank of the lake. It was abolished in 1879: Sutz came to the church in Nidau, broke away from it in 1993 and today forms its own parish again.
