In 1953, the Neue Bielefelder Hütte was built at its present location after its predecessor was completely destroyed by an avalanche several kilometers further south in the winter of 1951. The new cabin has a large sun terrace with great views.
The hut is perfect as a base for various summit ascents in the Stubai Alps. It is also on the Sellraintaler Hüttenrunde. The nearest huts are the Dortmunder Hütte and the Schweinfurter Hütte.
