From the viewing platform of the Lüneburg Water Tower you have a beautiful view over the entire city of Lüneburg. The top floor of the water tower can be reached by stairs or by elevator, which does not lead to the viewing platform, which can be reached via a small staircase from the top floor of the water tower. There is also a small telescope at the top of the viewing platform.

The Lüneburg Water Tower was built between 1905 and 1907 in the southeast of Lüneburg's Old Town. The former water tower now serves as a lookout tower. Today, the building stands between a residential complex on the site of the former Nordlandhalle and the old Johanneum serving as a secondary school.
The 56 m high [1] high tower, which today is the tallest non-church building in the city center, consists of an 18-meter-high pedestal with a square layout and a cylindrical structure. The tower shaft, which is structured with 16 buttresses, carries the walled-up tower with a volume of 500 m³. The storage capacity of the container soon proved to be too tight, as early as 1913, this stock was sufficient only for one morning. The tower has been topped up at least once. The roof surface of the base construction, which was framed by a high crenellated wreath, was designed as an observation deck from the beginning.
