The Hindenburg Bridge was a bridge over the Rhine that was destroyed in World War II and never rebuilt. You can see the remains of the bridge on both sides of the Rhine, they are partially overgrown. Remnants of former bridge piers can even be found in the Rhine. Nowadays there are no longer any Rhine bridges on a long section. You either use one of the many ferries, which is always an experience, or take a longer detour.
