Stretching towards the sea from the Kintyre Peninsula, West Loch Tarbert is a picturesque sea loch with a rich history. In the 11th century, Norwegian King Magnus Barefoot dragged his longboat here during his campaign to take over the Hebrides. As such, the peninsular fell under Norse rule for more than 12 years.
The loch extends 9.3 miles (15 km) from Tarbert village to the open sea at Ardpatrick.

Unfortunately not the best conditions to enjoy this loch... road A is quite busy, and the traffic is quite fast... unfortunately there are no other solutions here.
