The chapel was built around 1632 after the end of the plague in honor of the plague patrons Sebastian and Rochus at the lower Alpach bridge. Dismantled in 1793 due to dilapidation and rebuilt in almost the same place, the chapel was used as a wooden bed after the secularization in 1803. In 1827 it was mentioned as the Maria Snow Chapel. When the road through Tegernsee was expanded in 1934/35, the chapel was moved to the so-called “paradise” in the Alpbachtal below the shooting range.
