The chapel on the outskirts of Moosbeuren is often referred to as the "St. Wendelin branch church", although it is clearly dedicated to St. Mary.Mary with child is depicted as queen with scepter on the baroque altar - flanked on the left and right by Saints Catherine and Barbara. The year of construction is considered 1740. The branch church, under the patronage of the counts of Stadion, was looked after by the Oberstadion chaplain. This is indicated by two coats of arms of the stadium Thannheim and Stauffenberg.

In 1535 the church was first mentioned in the chronicle as the Marienkapelle (chapel of the Virgin Mary), but the Wendelinus chapel is spoken of in Moosbeuren today.
