Forte Sperone is located on the top of Monte Peralto and is part of Genoa's network of nineteenth-century fortifications. From here you have control of both Val Bisagno and Val Polcevera.

Forte Sperone is currently in a state of neglect, therefore it can be visited 24/7.
The only way to access it is to take the short stretch of paved road that starts from via del Peralto and reaches the main entrance of the fort (at the end of the road it is necessary to climb over a wall to find yourself in front of the drawbridge). It is not possible to access the fort by flanking it, i.e. by following the side paths.
It is possible to visit, albeit with caution, some of the internal rooms of the fort, and it is possible to reach the panoramic terrace and the top of one of the towers (through the use of a dilapidated spiral staircase which is accessed from the terrace).

The fort is completely abandoned and open to explore 24/7. Head to the main gate, which is locked, then walk 20 meters to the left. There is a low wall you can hop over. From there the Fortress is your playground.
