Hiking
You'll hardly encounter any hikers here, as most take the well-trodden path down into the valley. Be careful, to get down to Mautstatt, don't miss the turnoff from the forest road to the left shortly after the Ranerwand summit (which is slightly above the forest road). There's a stick there marking the turnoff. Or just check the komoot map... ;-)

A beautiful, not very/not at all crowded summit with a precipice, a few stones, no bench, no cross - but peace and quiet and a view.
We "took" it on the way back from Hochlantsch to Mixnitz train station.
It was a longer but beautiful public transport tour:
