You hardly meet any hikers here because most of them go down into the valley via the Prügelweg. Be careful, to go down to Mautstatt, you must not miss the turn-off from the forest road on the left just behind the Ranerwand summit (which in turn is a little above the forest road). There is a stick there that marks the turn-off. Or just look at the komoot map... ;-)
