In this part of the national park there is also an access road into Arnhem Land, which leads over the wide East Aligator River via a concrete track known as Cahills Crossing. The place is also an attraction because it is an excellent crocodile observation site. Although the site is over 50km from the coast, it is heavily influenced by the tides. In the rainy season, the site is often impassable for several months.

The spectacular spot ist ideal to watch dozens of crocodiles waiting for prey, or 4WDs trying to cross the river. It has become something of a trophy act to drive through once while a few meters upstream the crocodiles are waiting. Within a few hours the passage can change massively due to the tide, even though the coast is around 50km away. At high tide the water flows upstream and brings plenty of fish, for which the crocodiles wait calmly. Exciting to watch the game.
