The history of the castle and its lords can be traced back to the middle of the 14th century. [1] The steep slope to the west and south, the two wide trenches, the outer towers and ring systems indicate that the system was originally designed as a weir. From 1700 the castle received its current three-winged shape with an arcade courtyard and a castle chapel.
