The legendary raven tree is in the so-called Samerott, a beautiful mixed forest area which is already centuries old. It is managed and maintained by the paint farmers. The raven tree was a millennial oak, which was already partly hollow around 1500 and initially offered protection to the Anabaptist Jan Kuiper on his escape from the bishop of Münster. So a historic site that is worth discovering. ONLY ONE PLEASE: PROTECT AND SAVE THE FOREST and this unique natural monument.

Hiking

He is one of the few surviving natural forests of this size. Lots of beech trees and pure nature. Located on the old post office to Osnabrück and Münster and part of the Töddenweg (= Wanderhändler with a Kiepe on the back)
