There must have been a heavily guarded area near the barracks in the middle of the forest. Long rows of barbed wire fences and former post routes indicate this. Possibly the goat barracks ammunition depot here. Of the buildings, only one house, probably the lot accommodation, has survived. The rest were removed years ago.
