The marked spot actually appears to correspond exactly to the location of this rest area, but it is located entirely within the Gütersloh district. The city of Bielefeld borders the area about 1.3 km to the east, and the Herford district is about 2 km to the north. A few kilometers northwest lies the Osnabrück district, and thus Lower Saxony.
