There are two ascents from Erve to the Monza hut, the easiest passes from the San Carlo spring, the most demanding is the variant that passes from Pra di Rat where in some points you put your hands down to climb

    Resegone Loop Trail

The Resegone Loop Trail offers a challenging hike with significant rewards. This difficult 6.0-mile (9.6 km) route takes you up 2908 feet (886 metres) of elevation gain, typically requiring about 4 hours and 50 minutes to complete. As you ascend, the terrain shifts from pleasant paths near Fò Pass, winding through areas like Bosco dei Bucaneve, to steeper and rockier sections. The highlight is reaching the summit, where you'll be greeted by the mountain's distinctive saw-toothed profile and panoramic views stretching across Lake Como, the Orobie Alps, and beyond, including cities like Lecco and Como.

When planning your visit, be aware that while the route is named Trail 907, Path 11 is the recognized direct route from Capanna Alpinisti Monzesi to the summit. Trail 907 might serve as an alternative, especially if other paths are closed. The final ascent involves steep, rocky terrain, which is not advisable for descent due to loose scree. Therefore, plan your return carefully to ensure a safe journey back.

Monte Resegone is renowned for its unique saw-toothed silhouette, making it a prominent landmark in the region. The vistas from the top near Rifugio Luigi Azzoni are truly rewarding, encompassing a wide sweep of the landscape from Lecco and Bergamo to the distant Monte Rosa. This trail provides a deep dive into the natural beauty and challenging mountain environment of the Italian Alps.

Embark on the Capanna Alpinisti Monzesi Loop from Erve, a moderate hike that takes you through varied terrain on Mount Resegone. This route spans 6.1 miles (9.9 km) and involves a significant elevation gain of 2261 feet (689 metres), typically completed in about 4 hours and 21 minutes. As you ascend, you will encounter captivating scenery, especially around Passo del Fò, which offers excellent views of the city of Lecco. The trail provides a rewarding experience with diverse landscapes and impressive vistas.

When planning your visit, note that the starting point in Erve is conveniently located near a parking lot. Be prepared for some sections, such as the Pra di Rat path, which are steep and rocky; good fitness and sure-footedness are essential. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes to navigate the varied terrain you will encounter throughout the hike. Always check local conditions before you head out.

This loop offers more than just a workout; it provides panoramic views from Monte Magnodeno, overlooking the beautiful Lake Como and Lake Garlate. You can also find refreshing spots like the Erve Pools along the way. The route passes by the Alpinisti Monzesi hut, which serves as a great place to pause and take a break before continuing your journey.
