Hiking
The former castle of Murau is first mentioned in 1250 and was probably built by Ulrich von Liechtenstein. However, the castle was demolished in 1628 and the renaissance castle was built in its current form. The Schwarzenberg family has owned the Murau estate since then. Obermurau Castle can only be visited as part of a guided tour: From June 3 to September 30, every Wednesday and Friday at 2 p.m.
