Mining is one of the main industries in Australia. On the drive through the Australian outback, you often pass mines, but they are a bit off the usual roads and tracks. Here in Newman you are right next to of one of the largest mines. The city exists exclusively for it. The tour of the mine is worthwhile, you learn a lot about the lives of the families who live out here - and of course a lot of technical details about the mine itself.
