The nature reserve Kollen and Westerbachtal consists of two parts. The western part begins in the area between Hufe and Oberkollenbach and then continues to Offermannsheide. The eastern part has its origin in Niederkollenbach and ends at Engeldorf. The interruption is caused by a section of the brook that is not placed under nature conservation and is also close to nature. In both parts of the stream, the stream flows mainly through forest.
